My Princess outside the castle

Jetstar were offering flights to Osaka or Tokyo. Disneyland is the reason I picked Tokyo. From our Tokyo Home it was a 5-10 minute walk to Hatchobori Station which was an 11 minute train ride to Maihama Station on the Keiyo line (16 minute ride on the local service, 11 is express). I am a pretty big Disney Fan, having spent more time in Disney Parks as an adult than as a child, and I could not pass up an opportunity to share this with my three year old.

We had planned on going to DisneySea on the first day but we turned right when we should have turned left and ended up at the entrance to Disneyland, so Disneyland it was.

The first thing I noticed about Tokyo Disneyland was that most of the adults were really getting into the spirit of the place, with full on head to toe Disney costumes. It turns out the we were there during the first week of the Halloween celebrations so it was one of

two weeks when adults were allowed to visit the park in costume, which is usually only allowed for children under the age of 12.

The morning was a bit of a write off, we bounced from the ice cream shop to the nursing room to somewhere for lunch to the nursing room to somewhere for a snack. So all we had done was eat and change nappies!

Finally in the early afternoon we sat down to watch the parade. The best part of our first day at Disneyland was watching Imogen figure out that this place was Magic. She'd started out, frankly, a bit cranky. During the Parade I could feel her outer shell of cranky start to crack a bit. As we saw each of her favourite Disney Princesses and all the characters from Winnie the Pooh and Mary Poppins and TinkerBell, I felt her perk up and get interested.
After the Parade we all went on the kids first ride at Disneyland - It's a Small World.

Going on It's a Small World with the kids was just a great experience. By the end of the ride I could feel Immy's joy radiating off her, and Archer was enjoying himself too.  After It's a Small World Imogen, Ri and I went on the spinning tea cups and that was what finalised it - this place was amazing fun! According to Imogen. 

We bounced from ride to ride in Fantasyland and finished the day off with a look inside the castle. Imogen actually ended up falling asleep at about 6:30pm at Disneyland, so we hopped on a train and went home.

As we were leaving the park, walking back to the train station I asked Ri if he agreed that we siphoned happiness from our kid's happiness and he said "their smiles give me the kind of high thrill rides fail to give me anymore." nawwwww...
